When in Doubt – a poem for the Wavering Christian

have you ever seen
a daisy die?
with its center most
alive
and its seeds pressed
out to life
with its stem stretched
to the sky
it well knows more
will arise
a bloom the same
but new
and that all be
multiplied.
have you ever seen
a daisy die?
I have—
and whenever I’m filled
with doubt
I watch the daisy
die
and believe the Lord
of my life.
