Here’s a little tour of life lately.♥️ My mother-in-law painted our house! Look at this magic! No wonder I will be forever writing stories and poetry about this “little” life of mine.

My daughter turned 4 in early spring! She wanted a butterfly unicorn cake. When you’re four anything is possible and all possibilities make sense. It was so hard to get a good photo of this very busy cake, but what a memory!

For birthdays, Easter, and Valentine’s I decorate the table according to theme. My kids now know to watch for it. What’s the table going to look like? What balloons are going to hang? What gifts will be waiting on that dining table! It’s a fun way to make each occasion special without feeling too much pressure.

Each of my children get their own flower in the garden. And Heidi’s rose bloomed just in time for her birthday!

My daughter, Sylvia’s rose bloomed soon after. And I have so much more to say about this because February and March of this year have been absolutely wild, but that personal post is set for this Thursday. For now, I am so thankful for medical professionals, overwhelming prayers of our church family, never having to hold burdens alone, the presence of my Lord, solvable health problems, and so much more. But I’ll save all that for Thursday’s post. But anyway, Sylvia’s rose came in bloom just as the light was beginning to form at the end of the tunnel.♥️

This is my coffee these days! (I just ran out on Sunday!) I shop at our local Grocery Outlet and love when the spring-themed Starbucks coffee hits the shelves. It’s good marketing and I don’t mind falling for it. Even though the coffee notes definitely piqued my interest. 😃

And here is spring at the writing desk! Blue skies, full clouds, and green GREEN trees. Even though I’ve been doing plenty of writing for the next installment in our Garden of Green Fables series, I actually haven’t written at this desk since late February! I have, however, pulled out my watercolors, stickers, glue, and glitter to make little creative scenes. It felt so good to get back to it.🥳

I think this is the happiest I have ever seen this rose bush. I can’t believe how lush and rampant the roses have bloomed already. I usually have to wait until late April and early May for roses in the garden. But not this year. What a treat.

You could say my typewriter has been a lil busy these days…👏✨ Look at all the seeds that still need planting! And this doesn’t even include my own seeds harvested last year (sunflower, hollyhock, and strawflower). I have already thrown seeds out in new flowerbeds but still have so many more and a sunflower bed still to plant. We will see what blooms this year and where June finds us. I’ll be sure to take you along!

So those are the fun parts of where I’ve been and what life has been like lately. But when I tell you this year has been wild, unnerving, and unexpected…boy, I mean it. I still need to finish up that post and all is well. No need to sit at the edge of your seat, but I do want to share more about life lately and how the Lord has been with me in the last couple of months. I’m so glad you’re here!
If you’ve missed any recent musings, I’ve written three new poems here and here and here. We hit the halfway mark in our first novelette, The Heart of Hugh. (Chapters sent 2x weekly when you’re subscribed to my Substack.) And I’ve shared a couple garden reels on my Facebook page where you can join for more daily posts!
See you here Thursday with my heart in hand.
