Sometimes, we forget that we go in fighting together instead of fighting each other. Hard conversations are worth having. Change the posture of your heart and the position of your hands, and you will love what you find out about your love.
Sometimes, you do the hard work to build a bridge. And it may not be the sturdiest of bridges, but once built, you can build something better. You will be stronger. You will be closer. The work will be worth it.
I heard one of my favorite quotes from Lara Casey. It was simply, “How you spend your time is how you spend your life.” How very true! I’d also venture to say how you speak is how you’ll spend your life.
Your words carry weight, become your thoughts, construct your personal rhetoric, and turn into your actions. Our vocabulary matters! So, what if we just started with our words?
Well, only you can know what kind of box you’re trying to fit yourself into. But let me remind you that you’re not meant to live in a box. Your expectations don’t own you. Their perceptions don’t define you.
Get out of the box. It’s not worth it to try and make it work.
