August has been a month to remember! Although, I can’t remember most of it, honestly. ๐ The summer camp season ended in the first week of August and Ben and I felt just a tad disoriented as we moseyed about on our first few days of vacation!

Before we made it to my sister’s wedding, we visited Ben’s sister and her husband in LA. We are not used to city life, so it was a treat to walk around and see some of the places they enjoy. Although, I am told that where they live is not the city. But this country girl definitely thought of it as the CITY!

We made it down to my desert for Hanna’s wedding. You can read more about that exciting time HERE. It was beautiful, exciting, and wonderful to watch my sister get married!
We feel good about not being the bride & groom! HA!
After the wedding, we drove back to our little bright blue house and preceded to do nothing…or at least nothing of importance! We explored our new little town, spent time together, did some organizing around the house, and just enjoyed the quiet.
And since this has been a whirlwind month, but a seemingly short post besides…I’ve decided to share with you some photos of our living room & kitchen. Our bedroom & bathroom are still under care, but they are starting to look marvelous!
Here is our entryway. The old barn look became a common theme all over our house! The rake that Ben re-purposed last year is still in use!
This is what the entryway looks like when you stand in the kitchen.
Welcome inside our home! Have a seat. ๐
If you look around, you can see these details around the living room.
Just ignore the crooked frame! And no worries, I straightened it after you left. ๐
I love having memories surround us in our home!
Ben made that shelf from a fence post and the corner shelf you see below was also made by Ben from wood that used to be a part of the original front porch.
Come have a quick peek at our kitchen. Chocolate chip cookies have already been made here! I’ll let you know the next time I’m baking so you can snatch a few. ๐
So, there you have it! A very brief tour of our second home! ๐
I am so excited to be in the final stages of moving. We still have stacks of books lining our bedroom wall and we still have some outside stuff that needs a shed. But we are so close to finishing and I’m so thankful to have a husband who not only builds things, but also takes time to help me feel more settled in this new place!
August has been a month of personal closure, celebration, and rest. God has given many gifts in the last 4 weeks and I look toward September in anticipation as a new season starts.
