Where flower seed packets are made into sleeping beds and fairies are painted onto mini Jenga blocks. Come have tea at the little orange table which was once a wooden candle lid and enjoy the artwork curated by magazine and vintage style stickers.

There’s a cozy, happy fireplace because fairies are little things and out in the elements all day and all night. They probably need that extra warmth and coziness even in the summer. The flower chimney can’t be missed nor the garland in the entryway.

While the fairies lean more princess than fairy, for now, they’ll grow their wings soon. It’s a process to grow up as you know.:)

This Amazon box turned fairy house is such a happy little thing, a celebration of summer and these day of warmth and long light! I find it particularly fun that I happened to do this craft the week of Summer Solstice. Last Thursday marked the first day of true summer and also the longest day of light in the year.

On the following Friday, I watched as my husband interrupted our normal evening routine to play with our children. Heidi’s laughter bursting and Shasta racing his dad.

While I watched them run in the dark green grass, I keenly felt the solstice of summer. In the same way autumn drips with festivities and Christmas beckons us into our sweetest blessings, summer has its own way of being full and festive and sweet.

Not every day is a fairy thing, but oh that long light and that warmth invites us to stretch out and see.

See the season at hand. See the life we’re in. See the joy tucked in the growing pains.

You’ll find yourself in many moments these days and not all will be the light-heartedness of summer (that’s fine and as it should be), but somewhere tucked in that mundane routine of yours is magic. It looks ordinary until you look twice.

Look twice.
