My Word for 2018

Garden Lullaby, September 15, 2018

At the beginning , there were only a few of these. At the beginning, they took their sweet time opening up to the sun. At the beginning, I had no idea how much LIFE would multiply in just a few months. I had no idea they’d take over the porch garden. I had no idea how much I’d admire them over and over again. But here we are! In all the wonderful unexpected!

And if I could explain 2018 in one word it would be Snapdragon…it would be these flowers. It’s only September, but I know the rest of the year will be the same. I’m learning to rest in God’s goodness now and anticipate the goodness of God for whatever kind of life He makes in me, around me, despite me.

Life with God is beautiful. It’s not always easy, but its always worth it. So worth it. And no matter the season, life with God always multiplies, richens, and deepens in ways unexpected, full, eternal.
