El Roi; The God Who Sees

El Roi, I said as I walked toward the white gate.

El Roi, I whispered as I knelt down where so many frustrated tears had been cried.

El Roi, I thought as I read the book of Mark.

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years….

El Roi.

And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had….

El Roi.

And was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.

El Roi.

When she heard of Jesus, came in the press behind and touched his garment.

El Roi.

For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

El Roi.

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

El Roi.

And I read through past prayer journals. I laughed. And I cried.

El Roi.

And I prayed “God, I can’t! Not anymore!”

And I cried, “God, help me, I’m too weak.”

And I shrunk down, “How many more years?”

El Roi.

El Roi.

El Roi.

And,

El Roi, I thought as I woke from my slumber.

El Roi, I repeated as I succumbed to sleep.

El Roi, I wrote on the mirror, “the God who sees!”

I made the appointment for March 9th.

But I needed it sooner.

El Roi, I prayed.

“I trust that You will move this appointment sooner!”, I believed.

Today, El Roi.…my God….the God who sees.

She called, “We have a cancellation for 10:15 tomorrow. Does that work?”

EL ROI. “Yes, that works perfect! YES.”

El Roi, I’m scribbling the new doctor’s appointment on my calendar.

El Roi, my tears are coming.

El Roi, the God who sees.

Then somehow, my God assured me, though I needed no reassurance.

El Roi, the God who sees.

El Roi, I know You see.
