Hello from northern California!💕
I live in a bright blue house surrounded by my family, our dog, a flower garden–Green Fables, a few backyard goats, chickens, and our beloved cat named Cat and more formally dubbed Bagheera.

On the blog, you’ll find personal prose + poetry celebrating the beauty of a little life, the inspirational and dynamic turn of seasons both in creation and in soul, and the triumphant hope of Christ.

I’m a bit of a (wild)flower gardener in that I like to throw seeds at the wind and see what happens. I have what you call a “cottage garden.” A little bit of everything, lots of color, informal, and absolutely lovely.

It’s a quiet spot here. Take a deep breath.😊🦋

In this space, you won’t find political opinion, commentary on current events, or any post that follows a certain trend for “going viral’s” sake.

Instead, I hope that as you get settled in here you find yourself more able to enjoy life in its most ordinary and beautiful state. I hope you fall in love with all four seasons as I write and share about each one. I hope you’re filled to the brim with the hope & joy of our Lord Jesus Christ after you’ve stopped by my little neck of the woods.

I’ve indie-published three poetry books, Hope Gives a Eulogy (my journey through infertility) Swan Song of a Scarecrow (pregnancy, new motherhood, learning I was safe to feel joy) and Carol of the Mourning Dove (feeling weary in my Christian faith, experiencing the joy of motherhood, grieving lost friends, innermost stories punctuated by hope).
Each book is an intimate portrait of my life in different soul-seasons.

My poetry is deeply personal, reflective, rooted in my faith in Christ, and very inspired by nature and each of the four seasons.

This place is for slow and seasonal living. It’s for observing how the seasons change both out of doors and in our souls and how through it all, the hope of God permeates every ebb and flow and is always bobbing to the surface…Somehow!!

I’ll stay honest, and in the same way I won’t shy away from what is deeply hard, I won’t shy away from what is truly good. And so much is truly good.

Welcome to the garden in our quiet neck of the California woods!

PS: Curious about my poetry? I’ve got totally FREE downloads for you. Emotional, raw, and real. I keep it gut-honest and hopeful.
