The Official Autumn Playlist

On every Tuesday afternoon in October I invited my neighbors and their children to spend time in the garden.

Gardens are for people.

That’s what I wrote in my garden journal for Year 2023, words from Monty Don, but ones I wanted to live out in Green Fables. I envisioned iced tea and glassware and got fruit pouches and picnic blankets. A fabulous reality! Below is a poem based on those true events. I’m thankful for a garden that can catch the people in my life and make a place for conversation, laughter, and play. That’s part of my harvest this year.
