A Poem of HOPE for Our Generation

I hope when you heard us talking about how fast our kids were growing you felt hope for our generation twice removed from yours.

And I hope you saw how happy we were to be mothers in this day and age…how even the state of the world couldn’t change the state of our mind to build a sanctuary in the midst of all this.

I hope you smiled seeing our children run and play, saw firsthand how wonder and joy hasn’t been snuffed out by all the people who have ever said, “why would you bring children into this!”

I hope watching our young families share lunch at picnic tables, reminded you that good, strong men still do exist, that they love being fathers, that they know pillars are gently built by time spent around the table.

I hope for those brief moments you sat with us at the fair, you could clearly see what it seems like you can’t see hardly anywhere…

Hope for this generation, hope for the one to come, children who are loved, women loving motherhood, men laying themselves down every single day for the ones that they love.

So, I hope you left knowing–

All may not be well,

But all is not lost.
