Life doesn’t always lend itself to enjoyment and there’s nothing wrong with seasons where you grit your teeth and get through it. This was a spring for getting through.
And still it has been beautiful.

The buttercups were plenteous, there was a late and glorious snow in April(!), the morning birdsong was notable, the butterflies have returned, pink lemonade roses bloomed in droves, and the pollinator flowerbed is a bustling jungle of life!

Spring has been good even though it’s been hard to enjoy.
That’s a lesson in life wouldn’t you say?
Our ease or enjoyment is not required for things to be good or to be for our good. That’s not to say misery is our lot in life. Let’s not pendulum swing here.

It is simply to say that our feelings don’t need to be coddled for things to be good.
Spring has been good even though I have gritted through it and have missed so much of it. Spring has been full of God’s blessings + gifts and even though I have known the joy of these, the joy has not always been felt.

Before summer swoops in full swing (and it will), take a moment to reflect on your spring. Count every good thing whether you felt it or not.
Give thanks to God.

it was joy and sorrow
when springtime came
the flowers grew
anyway.
birdsong broke and my
heart did
too,
I was crushed
and
blooming.-S.V.F., Melody

No matter how you felt this spring, I imagine you’ll be surprised when you see just how much the goodness of has God poured over your spring through His creation, provision, nearness, etc. & so forth!
