Small Talk – a poem on love

Time does fly.

Seems wild this photo was taken November 2021 when I was in the 2nd trimester with our daughter and our son was just a year old.

Time does fly.

Fast and furious and beautiful. While not without grief, time has gone to good places and I love having all the ordinary life and all the “small” talk and all the weather with you.

Time does fly.

So here’s a poem to tell that love story of small talk and talk of the weather and building a whole life side-by-side.🌤❤

Small Talk

How about that rain? Did you hear that wind? Thought a gust might crash the window! Come outside! See the snow! Can you believe it went and fell again? Do you think the sun has ever been so nice? Can you smell summer in the air? Me too, oh yes, I do think so. At least that’s what the forecast said.

Meanwhile, you and me have vows and years and dreams and tears stretched long and good between us. Blue-eyed children just laughing, playing alongside resilient roses in the hard-won, cheerful garden.

And there we are just on that hillside far gone with Hope and happy. Noting the day and feeling the brightness of sky and moon and sun and stars and minutes passing by.

Tell me then… whoever said talk of the weather was small?
