First Christmas as a WIFE

The Young Wife Journal

Subject: First Christmas as a WIFE.

Primarily: Disjointed Thoughts

Christmas2015

Truth: You still get homesick for your family even after you’re married.

Truth: Making new traditions is so fun, but you do miss the old family ones.

Truth: Marriage is not a magic wand that makes all your problems disappear & your dreams come true.

Truth: You will get bombarded by a lot of magical pictures from all your friends this December, just remember we are all in different seasons & we are all learning difficult things along this adventure called L I F E & we are attempting to catch and cement the loveliest of memories ((rejoice with your friends when they catch one!!))

Truth: Being married is delightful, but it doesn’t always look like a perfect photo (actually, rarely ever). BUT these photos are sure worth treasuring when the come along.

Truth: This—our first Christmas— is new, and it is exciting, but so, so different.

Today: We decorated our very first Christmas tree with homemade ornaments, popcorn strands, art from nieces & nephews, our wedding invitation, and family photos. I have never been one of those pristine, really awe-inspiring decorators, so this homey tree is p-e-r-f-e-c-t. 🙂

So yeah, the holidays are totally different now that I am away from my family & all the regular traditions, but I’m excited and learning to be enthusiastic about all the NEW that’s in store for us this season.

I’ve decided. It’s going to be a Merry, Merry Christmas.
