Hours upon hours of sitting in the garden, observing nature, and the light holding us all in every season has opened a wellspring of stories I want to share with you.

But I won’t be the Narrator at all.
What if the oak tree had a heart? The daisy was a legend? Did I tell you about the Robin who keeps time like a grandfather clock? Or Harriet who builds a nest in my porch rafters every spring?
Perhaps everything in my garden has a voice, a point of view, and is living out incredible stories while I go about mine.
In fact, I am sure that they do. Garden of Green Fables is bursting with life!

Consider this new writing venture a fable meets folktale meets fiction but everything about the stories will be grounded in real life.
Perhaps even reminiscent of yours.
Each excerpt from the Garden of Green Fables series will be shared as a novelette, released seasonally, and sent chapter-by-chapter to your inbox via Substack. At no cost to you!✨️
The first story is set for Spring 2026 and the second for Summer 2026.
Depending on how the stories from Green Fables are received will determine what we do next! Perhaps a third novelette before 2027 or a book published thereabouts with all the novelettes bundled together.
Time will tell!
But for now expect to be immersed in Green Fables each season as personal stories get told by the garden characters who are grappling with light, life, and what it means to live.
Next week I will reveal the title of the first novelette and begin posting teasers as we gear up for the first release in our Garden of Green Fables series!

Subscribe to my Substack – Green Fables to get the chapters sent straight to you each week as soon as we launch.
(You don’t need a Substack to subscribe. This is just like signing up to a newsletter list. Just type in your email. The Green Fables series free.)
Since you are my faithful readers over here, I’m considering how to tie the series to my blog in some form, but it won’t be as personal or fool-proof as subscribing to Green Fables to receive the chapters by email directly.
I am so excited about the stories headed your way!
