I just wanted to share with you some of the happenings in my life. I so often share thoughts and short stories that I neglect to show you the personal side of my life. It’s been a full and busy month of September and October has just seemed to be even busier. Is that possible?!
I began my teacher/assistant/secretary/throw me anywhere job near the beginning of September. The whiteout abounds, and the class preparation becomes easier and harder at the same time.

I went to a Teacher’s convention at the beginning of October and my, what a wonderful experience that was! However, I did happen to lose the hotel room card in the beach sand, though I later found it….phew! I also realized that beach sunsets are far less enjoyable when Ben isn’t with me. They are still beautiful, but just not as enjoyable. I settled for a simple phone call instead.
I went to the Ronald Reagan Library and learned so much about a great man. I sincerely felt as though I had lived that era in all its joy, sadness, and complexity.
Oh and the best EVER gifts come from Target, especially when you walk out with an iced chai tea latte. MMMMMmmmm! Ben knows me quite well. It’s those little things.

And the first morning that felt like fall….was amazing. It called for a cup of pumpkin spice tea from Teavana (only the best tea ever!)
October 8 marked a year of Ben and I dating. The year has been full of learning, forgiving, and finding little ways of loving. We spent the majority of the year in a long-distant relationship, and then we spent a gloriously warm summer serving at camp. He picked me lots of flowers. ANYHOW, we are getting off track here. We have enjoyed a year of friendship together and it was worth mentioning and celebrating on October 8! We never celebrated the mere months, but those mere months did become a year and that was fun to talk about together.
And last Saturday, I went to the desert equivalent of a Fall Experience! YAY for apples and apple cider, and roasted almonds, and fudge, and caramel apples! Also, slip a few pumpkins in there and you have the recipe for a good day. Though, the best part was I went with my mom and my sister and a couple other friends.
For the last little bit of news, I was asked to guest post on a friend’s blog. I have never been asked to write for anyone’s blog before, so this opportunity made me very excited. The post was shared last night. Through some discouraging dips and plummets in my blog interaction this month, writing for a friend was so uplifting! She shared the post yesterday and it really could not have been shared at a better time. Mrs. Karen Brown, your thoughtfulness and encouragement to me has made a prominent bright spot in this busy month. Thank you! You can read my guest post here.
I have learned many lessons this month, and I am slowly developing a new series for my blog. The final ideas are a little slower in coming, because life is so fast. But something will come around the corner in the next week or so! I have a short story in the works and am excited to share that with you all soon.
One very important thing that I have really learned and begun to practice recently is to put off blogging so that I can do some living. I don’t need to be writing something all the time. Just let it rest, make some chai tea, read Little Women, spend time with Ben, and enjoy the life that God has given me. I’ll write about it sometime, but I will live it first.
I’m so glad that I happened to see this post come through and I’m even more glad that I stopped by to check it out! Of all of your posts, this is one of my favorites. I think it’s because it gives me such an honest and simple peek into your “everyday’ personality. And I love you even more now~
I wish we could hang out and drink chai tea (my favorite) and watch Little Women (Winona Ryder version). I just love how God made you, girl. Keep on listening to Him…. 🙂

I am so glad that you saw it too! Chai tea is the best, isn’t it? And yes, the Winona Ryder version for sure. 🙂 I think we would have way too much together, and I would love it. 😀 God has been so good to me and I do want to begin to share that in a simple, personal way. Thank you so much for stopping by…again! 😉
